MigrantSocial is a non-profit, non-Government organisation with mission to:

"Empower immigrants linguistically and socially by providing tools for improved communication and access to social information through humanised_AI solutions".

A solution to linguistic, social and informational barriers for immigrants
In response to key barriers faced by immigrants, we have developed MigrantSocial – an AI-powered Social Mentor and centralised "AI knowledge base" platform. This platform addresses:

• Linguistic - Many immigrants do not speak English or Norwegian, creating challenges in communication.
• Social - There is a shortage of human Social Mentors to support all immigrants.
• Informational - A lack of a centralised hub offering validated, real-time, immigrant-specific information.

 
Key features

1. Humanised AI Mentors: Powered by ChatGPT 4.0 and advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP), our AI Mentors understand and respond empathetically to questions in over 100 languages. They accept both text and voice input, and some are enhanced with human-like appearances and names, fostering a more natural and engaging interaction.
2. AI voice-to-text Translator: A real-time AI Translator supports communication in many-to-many languages. Initially tested in 8 languages for voice recognition, it translates to text in over 100 languages. This feature addresses the immediate needs of immigrants who arrive without knowledge of English or Norwegian.
3. Real-time personalisation and search: By considering the immigrant's location, language, and interests, the platform ensures access to the most relevant resources and mentors in their preferred language.
4. Centralised AI knowledge base: A structured repository of validated social information is used to train AI Mentors. This database categorises information by language (NOR and ENG), content type, category, organisation type, and more. It is visually represented on the platform's map for easy navigation.
5. Two-way collaboration with the ecosystem: Collaboration with organisations and human Social Mentors enhances their efficiency and impact. It also enables continuous knowledge sharing to refine and improve the AI system.

  
Future initiatives

• Mobile app: Expand the network of humanised AI Experts through a dedicated mobile app, transitioning from the current working prototype.
• Specialised humanised AI Experts: Introduce a broader range of humanised AI Experts to provide comprehensive support for immigrants in various fields.
